Saltaire, a Victorian model industrial village, sits in the heart of West Yorkshire’s Aire valley. It is recognised by UNESCO as one of the world’s most important built environments.
Saltaire is much more than a heritage site, however. Hundreds of people live and work here, bringing new life to the village which was founded by Sir Titus Salt in the 1850s for the men and women who worked in his textile mills.
Sustainable Saltaire is a new community interest company that will harness the village’s proud heritage, and using local skills, creativity and energy, we hope to create a sustainable, successful future for the whole community.
